Abstract:[Purposes] The paper aims to explore the application of waste tires pyrolysis carbon black(TPCB) in asphalt pavement, and study the effects of the dry and wet method on the road performance of TPCB modified asphalt mixture.[Methods] First, carbon black content levels of 8%, 10% and 12% were selected, and the range analysis was carried out with the optimization target of design void through the orthogonal test of six factors and three levels. Then, the road performance of three asphalt mixtures including 70#asphalt mixture, TPCB modified asphalt mixtures prepared by the dry and wet process was compared and analyzed through indoor tests such as the rutting test, immersion Marshall test, freeze-thaw splitting test and low-temperature bending test.[Findings] The indoor preparation process parameters of TPCB modified asphalt prepared by the dry method were determined.Compared with 70# asphalt mixture, the TPCB modified asphalt mixtures prepared by the dry and wet method have better rutting resistance and low-temperature cracking resistance. Compared with the dry process, the rutting resistance, low-temperature cracking resistance and water damage resistance of the TPCB modified asphalt mixtures prepared by the wet method are improved.[Conclusions] The performance of TPCB modified asphalt mixture prepared by the dry method meets the technical requirements of China's standard. The dry process is a beneficial supplement to China's standard. A preparation process of waste tire pyrolysis carbon black modified asphalt mixture is added.
